Jul 23, 2018  There are two indispensable books from Mark Lewisohn, The Beatles Recording Sessions and The Complete Beatles Chronicle (both of which I will review at a later date). As for the solo Beatles, there's only one book that merits comparison to those two: Chip Madinger and Mark Easter's Eight Arms to Aug 01, 2018 Hands down, my favorite Beatles related book.

I love the Lewisohn books and the Bruce Spizer books, but this is the one I always find myself going back to. Together they were a phenomenon, but separated they became a fascination.

The Beatles as a group released 12 studio albums in 8 years. As solo artists, however, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr have released a collective 70 LPs and 900 songs since 1968.

I play keys in a Beatles cover band, and sometimes play instrumentals, The arrangements in the two volume Beatles Complete books are much better, even for solo piano, and seem to me to be much closer to the originals.
